City Council okays ordinance on night market-A A +A

THE City Council of Bacolod has approved on third and final reading the ordinance for the establishment of a night market in the city during the regular session recently.
“It provides the manner of applying for the night market, the necessary requirements that need to be accomplished, the fees and charges that should be paid by the consignee, the details on the allowable kind of materials, paraphernalia that will be used in the night market operation, the allowable goods to be sold and the maintenance of peace and order and cleanliness in the area,” said Councilor Caesar Distrito, the author of the ordinance.
The measure sets the policies that will be implemented in the adoption of the night market in Bacolod City.
Distrito said the ordinance also states the creation of the Night Market Committee that will take charge of the market’s daily operations composed of the various city government departments.
The ordinance said the night market operation will start from 5 p.m. and will end at 12 midnight. The market’s location will still be determined by the Night Market Committee.
