THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) reminded Bacolodnons anew to be vigilant against “budol-budol” or swindling gang who continue to operate in the city.

Senior Superintendent Larry Decena, officer-in-charge of BCPO, said they received information that the gang of swindlers victimized another senior citizen in Bacolod.

An elderly woman reported to Police Station 1 last week that she lost her P100,000 cash to unidentified “budol-budol” suspects who included two males and two females.

She said an unidentified woman introduced herself as a friend of her daughter and convinced her to withdraw her money from the bank.

Decena said it is the modus operandi of the suspects to get the trust of the victims who will then be convinced to part with their money.

He added that the BCPO is intensifying their intelligence monitoring to identify the suspects.

Decena advised the public not to engage in unbelievable transactions involving money and to report the presence of the suspects to the nearest police station.
