BACOLOD City Police Office (BCPO) needs to double their efforts to improve their performance on their campaign against illegal drug and wanted persons, said Police Regional Office-Western Visayas (PRO-6) Director Josephus Angan.

Angan arrived in Bacolod Wednesday to conduct an inspection at the BCPO to check the compliance of its patrol plan system, deployment of police personnel, and implementation of Philippine National Police (PNP) rules.

In the campaign against illegal gambling, BCPO ranked number one after it arrested 51 persons, which is higher than Iloilo Provincial Police Office (Ippo) with 18 persons arrested and Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) with 12 persons nabbed.

In the illegal drugs campaign, Angan said Ippo ranked number one with 24 persons arrested, followed by Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Noppo) with 20 people arrested, BCPO with nine persons arrested, and Icpo with 14 persons arrested.

In the most wanted persons campaign, Ippo also ranked number one after it arrested 10 persons, followed by Noppo and Antique with two persons arrested, and BCPO with one person nabbed.

For the campaign on loose firearms, Ippo has six persons arrested, Noppo with six, and BCPO, Aklan, and Antique with four persons each.

He said PRO-6 will continue to monitor the monthly performances of different units to determine who are not complying with the order.
