A MOTORCYCLE driver and his back rider were injured when they were bumped by a jeepney at Fourth Road, Barangay Villamonte Bacolod City Monday morning.

Police identified the victims as Em Guanzon, 53, and Helen Alarcon, 49, both residents of Barangay 41 Bacolod.

Senior Police Officer 1 Xavier Rama, case investigator of Traffic Management Unit (TMU), said that while Guanzon was driving his motorcycle with Alarcon at 8 a.m., they were bumped by the jeepney plying the Granada-Burgos route, driven by Ricky Espinosa, 44, of Barangay Granada.

He said Guanzon and Alarcon were thrown away from their motorcycle and sustained injuries. They were rushed to the Bacolod Doctor's Hospital.

Espinosa surrendered to the police and was willing to give financial assistance to the victims.

However, if the victims are not amenable to a settlement, Espinosa will face charges for reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property with physical injury, Rama added.
