THREE hundred twenty-two couples got married on Friday at the Bacolod Arts, Youth and Sports (Bays) Center.

Bacolod City Mayor Monico Puentevella, who solemnized the wedding ceremony, said: “Marriage need not be expensive, it is measured by your love and commitment to each other.”

“The vows that you will make today will last until forever,” Puentevella added before the couples exchanged their marital vows.

Councilor Ana Marie Palermo, who attended the event, saluted the couples and lauded them “for giving each other the most precious gift in the world: the gift of self.”

As an official gesture, the marriage contract of the oldest couple, Mario Chin, 73, and Annie Diamante, 63 of Barangay Estefania, was signed by the mayor.

Several village chiefs were also present along with Councilors Claudio Puentevella, Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, Sonya Verdeflor, Wilson Gamboa Jr., El Cid Familiaran, and Archie Baribar.
