THE roll-on, roll-off vessel, which was recently investigated for its delayed docking, has been allowed to travel again after passing the inspections conducted by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

At 8:30 p.m. of December 31, the LCT Archangel Navistar was allowed by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to travel from Bredco port. The vessel was expected to dock in Dumangas about two hours later, but the vessel was delayed for almost five hours.

PCG-Bacolod Station head Lieutenant Commander Glen Daraug said when the vessel docked at 2:55 a.m. of January 1, its captain Lodivico Urcia was held at Dumangas Port. Urcia and the rest of the crew were also terminated by the Tristar Management. Read the related story.

“So far, no violations were found in the vessel and its crew,” Daraug said.

He said the vessel passed the inspection, and the Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) issued a certificate that it has the capability to travel.

He said they also boarded the vessel to ensure that it is capable to travel safely.

Daraug said the vessel has a new captain and crew.

He added that the PCG-Iloilo is still conducting an investigation against Urcia to determine the lapses he committed.

The result of the investigation will be forwarded to the Marina for the issuance of sanctions to Urcia, Daraug said.
