KREENZ Amor Cordero bagged the prestigious title Ms. Pasalamat Queen 2013 during the staging of the pageant last Saturday at the La Carlota public plaza.

The festival was star-studded and jam-packed by thousands of people who enjoyed the pageant and the weeklong festivities.

In attendance were popular stars, such as Jodi Sta. Maria, ABS-CBN's love team Xian Lim and Kim Chui, Deither Ocampo, 2011 Miss Universe 3rd runner-up Shamsey Supsup, and model and television host Paolo Bediones, DJ Durano, Aljur Abrenica and singer Rada.

The pageant night was done fantastically, according to the audience who stayed all throughout the event.

Bediones and Supsup, who were the event hosts, asked the same and final question to the top three finalists: "Why is there so much hatred in the human race when we were supposed to have to be born out of love?"

The Pasalamat queen answered, "I do believe that there is so much hate in this earth, universe because as human beings, we are not contented on what we have in our lives. We need more than what we already have in our lives, especially those who pity other people. We should spread love to one another so that freedom and unity will spread to all of us."

Meanwhile, Mayor Ferrer said the search for the Ms. Pasalamat Festival Queen is the most awaited event of the year in La Carlota.

"I would like to thank everyone who worked hard for this. Of course, this will not be extravagant if not for my creative mother Kitchie Benedicto Paulino. The Pasalamat festival is our way of giving honor to our Lord Almighty for the bountiful harvest and all the blessings he has bestowed upon us. This is also our chance to work together in unity for our beloved city. We have been very fortunate and blessed because our city has been one of the most progressive cities in our country. We are even named one of the top 10 performing cities in the Philippines ranking No. 8. Let us work together for a better and greater La Carlota," she said.
