PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III has ordered the creation of a Customs Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Processing Center in seven airports in the country, including the Silay Bacolod Airport.

The six others include the airports of Puerto Princesa, Palawan; Lagandingan, Misamis Oriental; Tagbilaran, Bohol; Legazpi, Albay; Iloilo and Kalibo, Aklan.

City Administrator John Orola Jr. said this is a very good development for the city and province, as the President himself took cognizance of addressing this concern.

Transportation and Communication Operations Monitoring Service Director Maria Cecilia Natividad has issued a memorandum to Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines to submit on or before 5 p.m. of January 25, 2013 a list of airport resources that CAAP may need.
