The University Student Government of the University of St. La Salle proved once again that they can be one of the best by putting up a beautiful show called Mr. and Miss Freshmen Night.
It was part of their Freshmen Week last month.
I was glad to be invited to judge the pageant. As a La Sallian, I cannot say no to their invitations.
I invited my friends Roy Cajilig and Eric Alvarado to watch the show.
I was impressed with their set designs. It goes well with the theme Emeraude: A Journey from Wonderland to Reality.
The candidates first came out dressed for Rumble in the Jungle.
Then they came out again for Dark of the Night segment.
When the candidates went out for their last exposure, they were so regal in their costumes for Royals of Emerald City.
The crowd favorites, Commerce student Larry Mark Badayos and BS Accountancy student Ma. Therese Ledesma, were hailed as Frosh Icons.
First runners-up were tall, dark, and handsome Ezekiel Mark Cuadra and mestiza beauty Helen Gleneece Strong of the College of Arts and Sciences; while Robert Puerta of the College of Nursing and Raina Reyes of the College of Engineering and Technology were second runners-up.
Indeed, USLS is home to plenty of beautiful young people.
