Bringing government services closer to the people

THE Ombudsman Regional Office is celebrating its 8th Anniversary in the service of the people of Western Visayas through a Caravan of Government Services.

The Ombudsman is bringing 60 national government government agencies to different cities and municipalities across the region to deliver various services.

On August 19, the 14th Caravan of Government Services went to Bingawan in Iloilo.


Thousands of residents from the Municipalities of Bingawan and Calinog as well as the City of Passi availed the legal assistance, jobs fair, trade fair, tourism expo, agricultural and livelihood fair, wellness and grooming and other services from 60 government agencies.

Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. graced the caravan and attended the Executives' Forum on Good Governance.

Almost 1,000 high school students attended the Youth Integrity Caravan at the Bingawan Gym where they were made to understand corruption and its ill effects to the society. They were also challenged to live a life of integrity.

Meanwhile, many residents also benefited from the medical and dental mission of the Project Buligay of the Iloilo provincial government.

A separate medical mission was also conducted in the Municipality of Tapaz in Capiz to cater the people of Tapaz and Dumalag. Both medical services were supported by the DOH, PCSO, PAP Cares, SV More and the Philippine Army.

For the past six years, the Ombudsman Regional Office 6 has conducted 14 Caravan of Government Services in the different provinces of Region 6 serving more than 100,000 people.
