IF YOU'RE into trendy but affordable sunglasses with a vintage touch, look no farther. Sunnies Studios, an emerging brand that has become Manila's favorite store for unisex eyewear, has come to Bacolod.

Sunnies by Charlie opened at Robinsons Place last July 17, with a meet-and-greet session with model Georgina Wilson over the weekend, July 19.

Wilson, who serves as the endorser of the eyewear, is part of the Sunnies team, being its marketing director. Other members of the Sunnies by Charlie team are operations director Bea Soriano, creative director Martine Cajucom and finance director Eric Dee Jr.

The four joined Bacolod franchisee Bea Tan in the meet-and-greet activity at Robinsons Place Bacolod, its 16th branch around the country.

Sunnies Studio was founded in 2013. Only a few months since its launch,  it already earned a wide following in local retail.

In response to the market's demand for affordable luxury, Sunnies Studios has expanded from being a Charlie apparel spin-off to being an umbrella brand that houses unisex eyewear styles that span from mid-century to post-modern.

Soriano, a fashionista and model herself, believes that the brand is perfect for the market right now. Students, young professionals, and fashionistas in Bacolod will surely love the brand that targets customers aged 16 to 34, she said.

But Soriano stressed that their eyewear looks good on women of other age brackets, too.

Cajucom said Sunnies eyewear is stylish but affordable and non-intimidating. You can buy Sunnies at an affordable price from P299 up, with many different stylish and trendy designs that suit every buyer’s preference.

In order for Sunnies to be at the forefront of fashion trend, Soriano says Sunnies comes out with new designs every two to three weeks.

They also see to it that there must be an influx of designs coming out regularly. They even make their own designs.

Sunnies are made of polycarbonate lenses and frames which ensures buyers a durable and light-weight product, with UV protection for the eyes.

Sunnies has 25 distribution channels since they started in October 2013.(with Bea Singuay, UNO-R MassComm intern)
