NATIONAL flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) inaugurated its newly refurbished Bacolod Ticket Office at the old Bacolod Airport in Barangay Singcang-Airport last Monday, July 7.

PAL Bacolod branch head Rene Aviles, and Jun Sison, head of PAL operations at the Bacolod-Silay Airport, warmly welcomed Bacolod Mayor Monico Puentevella and other guests which included travel agents, corporate partners, media and friends.

Cebu-based Christopher Lebumfacil, PAL's officer-in-charge for the Visayas Sales region, was also part of the welcome party.

The 160-square-meter ticket office, which now sports a standard PAL-themed interior look, was built in front of PAL facilities at the old Bacolod Airport, a familiar landmark to local residents.

Eight of PAL's 31 employees stationed in Bacolod will be manning the six ticket counters.

The new look is part of a continuing program to standardize PAL's corporate image to its customers. Other PAL offices in the airline's domestic network will also be refurbished.

Fr. Mitchell Guadalupe officiated the Mass that preceded the ceremonial ribbon-cutting and blessing of the ticket office.

Local travel agents who graced the occasion were Eduard Yap, Sheila Yap-Saratan, and Vicky Yap, all of Travel Lounge; Cynthia Flores of Décor Travel; Guia Flores of GSF Travel; Ben Lopue and Julia Lopue of Lopue's Travel; and Lucy Ponce and Shirley Chua of Ponce Travel.

PAL's corporate partners and affiliates also sent their local branch heads or representatives, namely James Lim, manager of Tanduay; Bambi Tribanco and Ruselle Lau, managers of Allied Bank; Mariano Magbanua Jr., area head of Allied Bank; Jollo Santiago of Allied Bank; and Antonietta Lopez of San Miguel Corp. Media friends included Jaime Golez of Sun.Star Bacolod.

Other PAL staff who entertained the guests included Emilio Garingalao, Aleyde Caroline Legaspi, Pike Santander, Leo Arribas, Mabel Bustillo, Eugene Arnaiz, Love Lyn Zamora, Dominador Saad, Dino Ortaliz and Raul Llavore.
