Vargas: A night of love and dance

-A A +A

I WAS so excited in going to the Negros Love Dance Festival 2014 that a day before the event, April 26, I posted on Facebook a question for my friends on what I will wear on the said occasion.

It has been a notion that Love Dance is for young people and that’s why last year I was already at Ayala North Point the District, the venue of the Negros Love Dance 2013, but hesitated to get in at the last minute after seeing that most of those entering the gate were young people.

But this year, no matter what, I decided to attend. So I wore my Emporio Armani light sweat shirt and paired it with my silvery black Michael Kors pants with Hermes belt and Prada sandals so that at least I might be looking a little younger and I can blend in the crowd.

In my own little way, I offered eggs and lit a candle at the Holy Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and Monastery and prayed for good weather for that evening. I did this because one of the organizers is a good friend of mine. And Hallelujah! The weather was good!

After having a sumptuous dinner hosted by my good friend and young fashion designer Chino Ledesma Christophers at his big bungalow, we went to the venue with a VIP ticket. Chino and I stayed at the VIP Lounge with Jay Amarante, a noted professional photographer.

From there we had a vantage view of the crowd—more than 8,000 partyphiles—enjoying the night, drinking, booth-hopping, relaxing, eating, and sitting on the grass. Most of the partygoers were dancing with so much fun with the vibrant electronic dance music played by disc jockeys from Bacolod, Manila, Iloilo and even from Belgium.

Some were fashionable especially the gays and metrosexuals dressing up with style, mostly with a touch of neon colors, the motif of the event.

But the Negros Love Dance was not only for the young. Other age brackets were also represented in the event, as they also came in groups.

In celebration of the success of the Negros Love Dance 2014, the organizers will have a pool party next month at the Clubhouse of Hi Residences Condominiums, owned by Vladimir Gonzales.

All in all, the Negros Love Dance 2014 was a success—louder and more crowded. Indeed, that night was full of dance, love and peace! These three are what we need to truly enjoy life!

Enjoy summer and make it “hotter” by watching the Celebrity Basketball Match on May 3, Saturday, at 4 p.m. at the West Negros University Gym.

The team of celebrities is composed of hunk actors AJ Dee, Mikael Daez, Joross Gamboa, Marco Alcaraz, JC Tiuseco, John Hall and two others whom the organizers will reveal on Saturday.

But I will give you a hint: their initials are JT and AV— varsity players of a popular university in Manila.

The celebrity team will have a friendly game with Bacolod City Barangay Selection. In the middle of the game,
there will be a “sizzling hot” half-time show with my models, the MWAH Models Bacolod.

The Celebrity Basketball Match is a project of Mayor Monico Puentevella and his son, Councilor Kalaw Puentevella.

In the evening, have an intimate partying with these celebrities at Dugout Sports Bar at 10 p.m.
