Sagada faces tourism woes

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- A tourism boom has hit the tourist town of Sagada in Mt. Province.

Tracey Santiago, head of secretariat of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) Philippines said the influx of tourists in Sagada is giving locals a tourism problem.

The governor is asking the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to furnish his office with the official report of damages inside Sto. Tomas forest.

THE Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has created a help desk to assist sub-lessees affected by the arbitration decision.

DENR awaits report on damages in Sto. Tomas

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) is awaiting final reports on damages caused by forest fires in the Sto. Tomas reservation.

Information Officer Pearl Nersa said the team who went to contain the fires in Mount Sto. Tomas is still in the process of consolidating their reports.

Dalog bats for more tech-voc schools

MOUNTAIN Province Representative Maximo Dalog is batting for more technical vocational high schools in the province.

Dalog said House bills have been filed and are now in first and second readings, respectively, for the creation of technical vocational high schools in the area, as well as a local court in Paracelis.
